The Healdsburg Guide

Tamarind Healdsburg City Guide

With a new shop in Downtown Healdsburg,  we wanted to share our favorite local spots to eat, drink, or stay in case you ever find yourself at Tamarind IRL. Nestled in the heart of vineyard speckled Healdsburg, these Downtown local haunts allow you taste and embrace the charm and history of Healdsburg with every site and bite. The small town sprung up as a pit stop for gold miners migrating to San Francisco and grew thanks to the fertile soil. Farms and vineyards painted the town until Prohibition hit. Grapevines were uprooted and prunes planted in their place. But by the 1970’s most orchards were converted back to vineyards. With a rich history rooted in wine and agriculture, local makers showcase the best of Healdsburg with home grown flare. Check out our noteworthy neighbors next time you're in town!

This Healdsburg hot spot is a refreshing, relaxed take on the typical tasting room. Their Sonoma heritage, modern aesthetic— complete with reclaimed wood floors and walls, distressed leather furniture, and spinning vinyl— makes this space feel like you're hanging at a friend’s stylish pad rather than a crowded wine bar. And let me tell you...the wine and educators are just as laid-back and refined as the space! Try a Pinot Noir or coastal Chardonnay to wet your whistle. And order small bites produced by Shed (more on Shed in a second!) if you get the munchies.

This modern grange—meets home and garden shop, meets small town grocer and deli, meets coffee shop and restaurant, meets event space— is a breed all its own. Shed is more than just a place to dine or shop. It’s a complete agricultural experience! From cheese courses and pickling workshops to monthly community dinners (dubbed Shed Supper) featuring local farmers and visiting chefs—this place is truly farm to table. Oh and did I mention they won a James Beard Award for restaurant design?! If you’re on a time crunch—Grab a cup of pour over and a collection of quality charcuteries to picnic by the River. This is the place for a true taste of Healdsburg.
