Take A Hike | Forest Frocks for Sartorial Spring Adventures
There’s always been something mystical about the woods. Towering trunks and ancient roots connect soil and sky. Limbs stretch and shield the forest floor. We get what Shakespeare meant—you can find yourself in the forest (*cough* A Midsummer Night's Dream *cough*). Within the comforting womb of mother nature, we are free—free to be our truest selves.
We drove twenty minutes out of town—snaking along the Russian River’s edge—to escape reality in the Redwoods (Armstrong Redwoods to be exact). Sure, the paths were mudded after the glorious influx of rain (peace out drought!), but that didn’t stop us from dressing like modern medicine women. We felt comfortable and free, wild and whimsical. Able to hug a long limbed, auburn barked giant or snap a spontaneous selfie without qualms or hesitation. We were grounded and glowing, inside and out.
If you need to recharge this spring— try escaping to the forest in whatever attire makes you feel strikingly, unapologetically you. We dare you! Just bring some sturdy shoes. And if nature isn't your cup of tea, gather the gals to Netflix and chill. Who says you can't escape "Into the Woods" from the comfort of your own couch?!
